Summary of the project
The Generations and Gender Program consists of two components: (1) The Generations and Gender samples survey (Russian version - “Parents and Children, Men and Women in Family and Society”), which complies the information on the individual level and (2) contextual (macro-) data bases, supplying this information with variables, measuring the context of higher level, where the behavior investigated at micro level, is accomplished.
The contextual data bases will include the legislation survey in the field of family policy, economy, income adjustment, employment, education, health care system, pension fund scheme and other social guarantees, etc., affecting the family position and fertility processes, and also statistical data, distinguishing main social and economic trends. There will be represented both national and regional level.
The main goal of this element of the Generations and Gender Program includes the preparation of data, which in future may be used in multilevel quantitative and contextual analysis, where micro- and macro-level data models participate simultaneously.
