Attention!

November 18, 2004: On December 7, 2004, at 5 p.m. the IISP will hold a seminar devoted to Social and Economic Consequences of Reforms for Russian Regions. A wide range of reforms (those already launched and at the draft stage) relevant for regional development are to be discussed: the municipal reporm, the monetarization of benefits, the possible consolidation of regions. Experts from the IISP, Center for Fiscal Policy, Institute of Urban Economy, Academy of National Economy and other research institutions dealing with socio-economic and budgetary-financial aspects of Russia's regional and municipal development would take part in the seminar.

June 29-30, 2004: The international conference "Accessibility of Higher Education: Challenges for Transition Countries" was held by the IISP on June 29-30, 2004, in Moscow.

June 3, 2004: On June 8, 2004, at 3 p.m. a workshop within the Generations and Gender Survey would be held at the IISP.

June 2, 2004: A final seminar was held at RAO "Unified Energy System of Russia" to discuss the results of the project Russian Power Industry Restructuring: Consequences for the Household Sector implemented by the IISP in May 2003 - May 2004.

February 16, 2004: On March 19, 2004, at 4 p.m. IISP would hold a seminar Informal Employment in Russia: Methodological Approaches and Empirical Evaluations". A presentation would be made by Oksana Sinyavskaya, Cand.Sc., IISP Deputy Director.

November 14-15, 2003: a training seminar "The Use of Social Data Archive Materials in Research and Teaching" was held for young university teachers.

October 3, 2003: The project Middle Classes in Russia was presented at the rountable "Middle Class in Russia: New Research and Debate" within the Second All-Russia Sociological Congress "Russian Society and Sociology in the XXI Century: Social Challenges and Alternatives" Post-Session organized by the State University - Higher School of Economics. The project was presented by V.Radaev, L.Ovtcharova, and Ya. Roshchina. Project's reviewer, N.Tikhonova, also took part in the discussion.

October 2, 2003: A research conference Human Resources of the Region, and Corporate Policy was be held in Norilsk, organized by the IISP and the Norilsk Nickel Public Stock Company. Representatives of the IISP, the Norilsk Nickel Public Stock Company, federal authorities, Krasnoyarsk region and Norilsk municipal authorities, various research and social organizations and mass media would take part in the conference.

September 19-20, 2003: A seminar Policy Pathways to Health in the Russian Federation was held at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis, Laxenburg (Austria), within the Risk, Modeling and Society project, in partnership with the IISP and the Institute for Social and Economic Studies of the Population, RAS.
